This is also the deadline to skip your delivery, pause deliveries for 4-8 weeks, or cancel your account, if you do not want to receive meals for the following week.
If you meal plan is active (i.e. you haven't skipped, paused, or canceled) and you don't select meals by the order deadline, we'll automatically select meals for you and charge your card. We want to make sure you always have meals when you want them, even if you forget to order before the deadline.
Check your meal selection status any time in the main order screen of the Tovala app. Each weekly menu will be marked with a status icon. Green= selections confirmed. Red = Skipped. Yellow = Selections Needed.
When you skip a week of meals, you receive an email confirming that you skipped that particular week.
2. Receive your meals.
Tovala Meals arrive the week after you order them between Monday–Friday. Your specific delivery day will depend on where you live and will be consistent week to week (i.e. always on Tuesdays).
If you live in an area that offers multiple delivery day options, you can adjust your delivery day in the app under Settings→Meal Plan→Plan Settings or at my.tovala.com under Account→Meal Plan→Edit Plan.
You will receive an email with a tracking number when your meals ship so you can monitor their progress. Tracking info can also be found in the app under "Past Orders".
You don’t have to be home when your meals arrive but we encourage you to bring them inside to unpack and store them in the refrigerator as soon as you're able. Your meals will stay fresh in their packaging as long as the ice packs are still at least half frozen, the exterior box is undamaged, and your meals are still cold.
Why "at least half frozen"? Because it's normal for ice packs to start melting before you open your package—in fact, the melting ice is what absorbs heat and keeps your food cold. Learn more about our packaging here.
3. Store your meals.
Unpack your meals from the delivery box and store them in the refrigerator. All meals will last between 2-7 days after delivery and each meal is labeled with an Enjoy Before date.
If you selected a protein with your meal you can check the app for the Enjoy Before date of your chosen protein.
Some of our seafood proteins like shrimp need to be enjoyed or frozen within 2 days of receipt. Check the protein packaging for details.
If you ordered Extras, refer to the insert card that came with the Extra to see if it should be stored in the refrigerator or freezer.
4. Enjoy fresh, perfectly cooked food.
