Skipping a week = exactly what it sounds like
- Skipping a week lets you opt out of meals for a specific week.
- After that week, your plan will automatically resume the following week—no extra steps needed.
- Skipping is a great way to take a short break without changing your broader subscription settings. This is not a way to indefinitely stop receiving meals.
- Everyone can skip weeks, including customers with a meal commitment.
- Up to 5 weeks of menus can be skipped at any given time.
Pausing = temporarily stopping meal deliveries for 4 to 8 weeks
- Pause your meal plan when you know you’ll be away for a month or two and want to temporarily stop deliveries.
- You can pause your meal plan for anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
- When you pause, you’ll choose a specific return date. Your meal deliveries will automatically resume on that date—no need to manually unpause.
- This ensures you don’t miss out when you’re ready to start receiving meals again.
What happens when you pause:
- Your pause starts with your next unprocessed order. For example:
- If you pause on a Monday morning before the Wednesday at 6pm order deadline, your pause will start with the next week's delivery and you will not receive meals the following week.
- If you pause on a Thursday afternoon AFTER the Wednesday at 6pm order deadline, your order for the next week will still be delivered and your pause will start the FOLLOWING week.
- All unprocessed upcoming meals and future deliveries will be stopped during the pause period.
- Your subscription and preferences remain saved for when you return.
- You'll receive an email the week before the ordering deadline for your next order after your Pause ends to remind you to select meals.
- If you don't select meals for your return week before the order deadline, we'll fill your order for you.
- Pausing is only available to customers who have either completed their meal commitment or who didn’t purchase an oven with a meal commitment.
Canceling = stopping meal deliveries
- Any processed orders will be fulfilled and then all future meal deliveries will stop.
- When you cancel, we remove you from our active customers list, delete your meal plan settings, and stop contacting you about upcoming meals.
Will I get penalized for pausing or canceling?
If you're not in a meal commitment:
- No penalty! You’re free to pause (with a return date) or cancel your subscription at any time—though we’ll miss cooking for you!
If you're in a meal commitment:
- Pausing is not available for customers still under a meal commitment. You can skip individual weeks, but pausing is only allowed once your commitment is fulfilled.
- If you choose to cancel before completing your commitment, you may be charged the full price of the Tovala Smart Oven (if it was discounted as part of your plan).
- For full details, please refer to your Tovala Smart Oven purchase terms and conditions or reach out to our team—we’re happy to help!
How do I skip, pause, or cancel?
- To skip a week of meals in the Tovala App, go to the Order tab and select the week you would like to skip. At the bottom of that week’s menu, choose "Skip/Adjust" then "Skip Delivery".
- If you want to pause or cancel in the Tovala app, go into "Settings", then "Manage Deliveries", and then “Delivery Settings”. From here, you can choose to Pause or Cancel deliveries.
When do I have to skip, pause, or cancel?
- If you don't want to receive meals for a week, you must skip, pause, or cancel by Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT the WEEK BEFORE the order is scheduled to be delivered (the same deadline for ordering meals).
- For example, if you cancel your meal plan on a Thursday at 10am you will still get meals the next week because the order deadline has passed and the cancellation will take effect the following week.
